Circle 3, Step 2 Complete

Still having a bit of difficulty focusing, as 90% of these problems are beginner level. That blitz-like mentality just isn't going to win OTB games, though.

Wow, I wish those level 2 problems seemed like a cakewalk for me!

I just started Mate in 2 (access), and realized I am REALLY bad at finding sacrifices: I am still in the novice mindset of trying to hold on to material at all costs.

>>hold on to material at all costs.

That's an excellent point.

Both TCT and Polgar 5334 prepare you throw away material if mate is there. It's about developing a broader mindset, ruling out sacrifice threats before making a decision to do a typical move.

I would never accuse you from a blitz-like mentality.:)

Even thought the problems are easy for you for the most part, do you find yourself recognizing pins, mates and the like with less effort in OTB?

Are you still alternating how much time you can spend per problem in different circles in the see-saw approach mentiond here?
